Halo: The Master Chief Collection has released its newest update of the game and it can now be downloaded on Xbox Live. When you begin the game, it will prompt you to download the latest update. Several setbacks of the game have been reported out of which matchmaking and the incompetence for gamers to enjoy the multiplayer features of the game are the biggest ones. Xbox chief Phil Spencer recently addressed these issues, promising fans on Twitter that the Industries team are working very hard to mend the unbearable multiplayer waiting time. Gamers expected that this new update will resolve the matchmaking performance problems, UI problems and several other issues which the users have been encountering ever since last week when the game released. Message boards such a Twitter, Reditt are filled with criticism charged at Industries for not being able to fix these issues even after the updates. It has already been a week since the release and till now only a part of the game is working properly single player. Although a few gamers have stated that finding matches has become faster than before, but the wait time is still around minutes.
Multiplayer bugs undercut the Master Chief Collection’s biggest launch yet
It’s a shame that things have become like this, but long gone are the days that a person could simply pop in a game disc, install the game and, maybe, one update, then be on their merry way to spend some time with a brand new game. It’s sad, really. Lengthy download times, large day-one updates, and various launch issues are the norm now, and no matter how much of an inconvenience they may be, it doesn’t appear as though they’re going away.
Such is the case with Halo: The Master Chief Collection , a game that already has its own 15 GB launch day update to go through, on top of the mandatory game installs. Oftentimes resulting in no results. Imagine patiently waiting for the 15 GB of content to download and install, just to run into problems that further prevent you from playing.
Updates to fix various issues including matchmaking and place today will attempt to fix some of the matchmaking problems in Halo: time ever — Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2 Anniversary, Halo 3 and Halo 4.

Even at launch it was oddly slow, when there was k people on and now with the average player count being maybe 5k, high points being maybe near 10k and low points being 3k, it can take 20 minutes or so to get a match which is way to long for a game that still has a decent player count online.
The Master Chief Collection ‘curse’ continues
In multiplayer video games , matchmaking is the process of connecting players together for online play sessions. Playlists are automatically-managed streams of online play sessions that players can join and leave at will. A set of predefined rules is used to determine the configuration of each session without the need for human input. Games will normally offer a choice of themed playlists e.
Well, is for the internet connection, its very hard to find players with good internet when having a bad internet, it also happens me all time, but the only way to fix it.
We all have. To preface this, I am an absolute Halo fanboy. It took everything I loved about multiplayer Golden Eye and packaged it on a machine and controller that felt intuitive to use. That love was further expanded upon with Halo 2 and the introduction of online mulitplayer. I pay attention to the other alternate media options like Forward Unto Dawn and now Nightfall, graphic novels and books.
Burdened by what seems to be a host of matchmaking issues, one of the key components of a Halo game has become its most negative bullet point. Now playing multiplayer has not been impossible. It is a process that involves entering and exiting lobbies over and over again and it is frustrating beyond belief.
Well word is in that will be releasing a user-side content patch that they hope will resolve the issue. However, we are well aware that performance is not where it needs to be. Resolving Matchmaking issues also requires client-side fixes, which require a content update. The client side update, which focuses on Matchmaking performance, non-matchmaking bugs, and a variety of title-specific issues, has been completed and is going through testing and certification.
God I hope this works.
Halo Reach patch notes: Master Chief Collection update changelog for Xbox One, PC
Last Updated a minute ago: Halo is a military science fiction first-person shooter video game franchise created by Bungie and now managed and developed by Industries, a subsidiary of Microsoft Studios. No problems detected at Halo. At the moment, we haven’t detected any problems at Halo. Are you experiencing issues or an outage?
It would be me and a level 1 player vs two players who score over level 20! I can’t enjoy this anymore because it’s impossible to be alive for.
An initial update was deployed earlier today which should solve some issues, however it seems the update did not solve all the games issues. We have deployed a number of server updates to help improve matchmaking. These updates should expedite search times and allow you to find matches faster and easier. We are actively monitoring data for wait times and will continue to modify as necessary. For more updates visit the developer forum on the Halo Waypoint website.
Xbox One owners who picked up Halo: The Master Chief Collection may have been disappointed to find out that its matchmaking function is not working as it should. Players reported lobby wait times as long as three hours just to find a public match. These issues were first reported in Australia and New Zealand on the day the game launched. More information on these updates can be found on Halo Waypoint. On top of this, players will have access to every single multiplayer player map released for the respective games.

Halo: Reach PC impressions – janky but fun
We have one wired one wireless and every other match we try to join one of use gets the message. So we looked around and it seems to be an issue with being on the same network but nothing we try so far has fixed. Any thoughts? This is making me want to quit playing one of my faves. Did this solve your problem?
I’d like to take a moment to address the state of matchmaking in Halo: The Master This is something we are working 24/7 to isolate and fix.
Halo Matchmaking is working from South Africa! Patch after patch and the matchmaking issues persisted. South Africans are unable to join a multiplayer Halo: The Masterchief though matchmaking. No amount of patching will fix it though. The most egregious bit of all of this is that Microsoft South Africa is aware of the issues and the IP restrictions in place — and I think they should at the very least be selling physical copies of the game with some sort of a warning sticker, with a similar notice on the digital versions in the Xbox store.
The problem, obviously, is with the precedent that this sets. This will very likely happen with other games. Will we be able to play Halo 5: Guardians? 343 Provide An Update On Halo Matchmaking Issues
For those of you that haven’t played it yet and care about audio fidelity at all I’m just going to save you a lot of time and say ‘don’t bother’. For my books this is the worst sounding video game I’ve heard outside of those bad Genesis emulators. Sounds is drenched in booming bass, distorts, missing entire channels of sound and the mids and highs are completely inaudible. Want to hear the NPCs dialogue?
When the announcement came out that Halo 5: Guardians would be Halo community was losing hope for matchmaking to ever be fully fixed.
Both halves of the experience are hitting PC for the first time with this beta test. The collection was poorly received upon its initial launch due to a plethora of issues, and the game has been in some form of beta test ever since. Still, the company has vowed to deliver experiences fans won’t soon forget, and even include a few new weapons and skins to enhance the decades-old titles.
Previous tests have suggested that the game will launch mere weeks after tests start, although it’s always possible that a major problem could delay the launch. Prepare to drop. When ‘Halo 2’ Invaded Planet Earth
Many players have complained about long matchmaking since the Xbox One first-person shooter’s launch earlier this week. In a post on Halo Waypoint , executive producer Dan Ayoub said ‘s engineers believe they have identified the primary matchmaking issue, and were working on a fix. While that’s happening, the hopper list has been trimmed temporarily to drive player population to those that are functioning the best, Ayoub said.
Patch after patch and the matchmaking issues persisted. It’s now four months on. A brand new patch is out – and for many, it’s completely fixed.
So far Halo: Reach is a janky, but still-enjoyable experience on PC. Right now Halo: Reach is far from the optimized experience that Industries promised. It’s not a complete package and is missing many important features, like co-op campaign matchmaking, split-screen play, and basic progression schemes. But when it works, it transports you back to It’s not a full total recall type of situation–you have to squint past a bunch of flaws–but it’s good enough to keep you playing for hours and not realizing it.
No campaign co-op matchmaking – The original Reach had every type of play covered, whether you wanted to play solo, with friends, or randoms. It had campaign matchmaking a first for the Halo series to let randoms team up and take on the campaign together. Predictably, i has scrubbed this feature. Weird hit detection – There’s been multiple melee attacks that didn’t land that should’ve, especially in Firefight.
Input lag – Yes, this is a thing. Sometimes you’ll hit a button and it doesn’t actually equate to an action right away. It’s frustrating but hasn’t happened to me very often. When it does happen, you’re pissed. Wonky aiming – You have to compensate for the game’s wonky aiming.
